Let’s face it; the COVID Pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. And as a [creative] business owner, not having the opportunity to exercise your talents can be, well, hard. But what’s even more challenging is knowing that you have to put your wedding plans on hold due to unforeseen circumstances. So, I decided to team up with Therese Morrison of Therese Nicole, LLC – Event Planning & Design to find a way to help an affected couple commemorate their union. A Styled Shoot Giveaway!
A styled shoot is when various wedding vendors collaborate and lend their talents to achieve an aesthetic. Think of it as a staged wedding that follows a designated theme and uses models as the wedding couple. In this case, we used an actual couple for our subjects and gave them a beautiful collection of pictures to look back on.
We decided to get the word out through Instagram, and The Black Bachelorette was kind to host the giveaway announcements and announce the winning couple!
This handsome young Maryland couple had to postpone their destination wedding in Jamaica. (Thanks, COVID!) Lucky for them, The Black Bachelorette randomly selected Kyra & Richard’s names, and they were on the way to creating beautiful new memories.
This fantastic day would not have been possible without the talents of the following team of creatives:
We didn’t have to search long for this bright and airy contemporary studio space. The Lightbox Studio functions not only as a gorgeous photography studio, but couples, vendors, and business owners can also use it to host their intimate events.
First, Therese chose a simple yet elegant color palette of black, white, and gold. A sleek and modern aesthetic paired with a chic and contemporary flair, creating a timeless and whimsical setting for this shoot.
Keeping to the Black and White theme, Kira of Eclectic Blooms adorned the space with white roses and lillies accented with lush greenery.
Then, Chantel created this beautiful 4-tiered masterpiece, adorned with white roses, blueberry picks, and a hand-painted black design.
Something Vintage Rentals provided the contemporary white chairs, sleek tableware, and marigold tufted sofa. Simply elegant white dinnerware and glasses trimmed with gold and modern black and gold flatware.
The fine details are my absolute favorite. We asked Ronna of ModLode to create an attractive set of signage, menu cards, and invitations. Black, White, and Frosted acrylic geometric designs with Gold Accent lettering.
What is a styled shoot without a talented Makeup Artist? Montique of Jaded Beauty by MJM created Kyra’s stunning soft and natural look.
Finally, with the help of Michael Rice of M. Rice Photography, we were able to put together this Behind The Scenes clip of the magic as it was unfolding.
All in all, I’d say that the event was a complete success! And the couple was pleased with the way the day transpired and the photos they got! I’m looking forward to creating some more magic again in the future! Stay tuned to see when the next styled shoot will be!
