Bonjour, Gemstones!
I am delighted to announce Yanira & José’s union, an intimate wedding at Gerry Park, Roslyn, NY. These two have known each other for 14 years and are people anyone would love to know!
They met in High School and started when they were seniors; the rest is history. As for the proposal, José proposed on Nov. 13, 2021 – It was a Saturday evening, and Yanira and José had just finished putting up the Christmas tree. “Early, we know, but the holidays happen too fast!” explains Yanira. While in the shower, Yanira’s sister and José prepared the apartment with rose petals on the floor. Yanira said, “As I open the bathroom door, I see the rose petals, and I couldn’t help but smile – I remember thinking, is this a prank? If so, it was a mean prank! But the moment instantly started to become so real.” She describes as she walked towards José and their son, the baby had on a onesie that read, “Mommy will you marry my daddy?” Yanira exclaims, “I couldn’t believe it was happening! As I turned towards José, he was on one knee and popped the question!”
We had a lot of fun taking wedding pictures, as well. While getting ready, José saw Yanira getting her makeup and hair done. However, he had not seen her in her dress and decided last minute to meet each other at the park. We staged a First Reveal moment when Yanira arrived at the park shortly after José. I asked Yanira to walk up behind José, and the emotion on José’s face was truly priceless!
The wedding was extraordinary and deeply personal. We met at the park before the family arrived and basked in the early afternoon sun. The air was cool and crisp, but the warmth shared between these two was enough to forget we were outside on a chilly November Wednesday. The pair interacted so lovingly during our time taking portraits together, and they made my job as their photographer very easy.
The bride’s dress was seriously gorgeous, too. And I’m not just saying that! If I’m to be forthright, I am a sucker for knee-length dresses with romantic lace detail. Not to mention, she accessorized her dress with a customized denim jacket adorned with pearl embellishments.
“I knew the dress for the ceremony was ‘The One’ because the fit was perfect but also my style! I loved the length, the lace, and the design. The quality was also great!”

The couple had close family members in attendance and exchanged their vows under the gazebo at Gerry Park. The following Sunday, the reception dinner was held at the Mio Posto in Merrick, NY, a family-style restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine in an elegant setting.
“My experience with Peridot Imagery has been pleasant, joyful, and valued. I deeply feel that April cares about our wedding day and seeks nothing more than to capture these memories for us to cherish now and in our future,” says Yanira.
Okay, let’s get to the pictures! Yanira & José were such a delight to work with, and I wish them many wonderful years to come.
